The bakery is a civil building that decreases food consumption of soldiers. It has 8 levels giving a final food reduction of 40%. It can only be built using rubies.

Notice: This building cannot be demolished once built.
An update happened in October 2014 which added more upgrade levels for the same food consumption reduction. This meant that for new players, more rubies had to be spent in order to get the same effect.
The bakery is considered by many to be the best building in the game, but also as too expensive for a non-ruby player. Even so, it should be the first ruby building you buy. Combining it with the Flour mill, which affects the Farmhouses production, gives bigger effect when supporting your army of hundreds or thousands.
