The Longbowman is a powerful ranged unit that is primarily used for providing defense in one place. Although it requires a long time to recruit, its defensive power is good enough to repel groups of Bowmen and Crossbowmen. The other unit that is suitable for melee troops is its melee counterpart, the Halberdier.
Other than recruiting, you can acquire this unit by finishing missions from the mercenary post.
Previously, along with other basic units, it can upgrade to its veteran counterpart once researched at the research tower. However, after April Update 2022, this process has been changed and instead requires the players to have their Barracks at Level 6.
